After I finished watching the footage, a realization hit me: my nightmares were not mere figments of my imagination but rather glimpses into a haunting reality.
Since childhood, I had believed that my dreams and nightmares were twisted products of my mind, fueled by the notion that my parents had abandoned me and left me in an orphanage.
These beliefs were further solidified by my lack of childhood memories. However, all of these misconceptions and delusions were shattered by the truth revealed in the footage.
Contrary to what one might expect, I did not feel anger or frustration about how my family was killed. Instead, I felt a strange sense of joy. This footage gave me a purpose in life, an excuse to unleash mayhem and create a massacre.
no! That was not the true purpose it served. It gave me a reason to enter the magical realm, to delve into the depths of its mysteries and perhaps find answers about my parents and my deceased brother.
If I could somehow tap into the memories that are extracted from my parent perhaps I could extract valuable information and seek revenge on those responsible.
I entertained thoughts of torturing them, making them suffer, and taking joy in their misfortune. But those dark thoughts were quickly admonished. That was not the path I wanted to tread.
The footage presented me with three leads to pursue. The first was an organization called Astrogen, a hidden powerhouse on Earth that possessed supernatural powers. I suspected that even the government had a team of superheroes.
The second lead involved mysterious individuals from space, recognizable only by the tattoos they bore. Unfortunately, I had no further information about them.
Lastly, there were the mages Harry Blackwood and Raven Blackwood, hailing from the magical realm. They held key answers that I sought. I could not;t help but wonder what had become of my brother's body, confiscated by those in power. But I quickly pushed aside such disturbing thoughts.
Now, an opportunity had presented itself. I had the chance to enter the magical realm and uncover the truth about my brother. I yearned to find Harry Blackwood and extract every ounce of suffering from him, relishing in his misery like the icing on a dark cake. But as I contemplated these plans, my thoughts turned to the realm of magic itself.
Imagining the magical realm ignited a wild stream of thoughts. Would it resemble a modern fantasy world, complete with sprawling dungeons and towering structures? Would it house tools and gadgets powered by the ethereal force of mana?
Or would it surpass our civilization, possessing advanced technology and robotics?
Perhaps it would mimic a medieval era, with people assigned various classes such as knights, mages, healers, and tamers.
Wait, would the magical realm have a system that displays one status and awards experience points for slaying monsters? The notion amused me momentarily.
Imagine the perfect excuse to kill both humans and monsters alike, kidnapping creatures and tormenting them to my heart's content.
no, such a system did not exist. I quickly dismissed the idea.
If I wanted to pursue these desires, I had to enter the magical realm. The path beckoned me, situated amidst this snow-covered mountain.
The view stretched out before me, concealing the land in a blanket of pristine white. The frigid air collided with my body, sending shivers down my spine.
I observed the PORTAL, a doorway to the magical realm, this portal shimmering with a mesmerizing display of blue particles. Its core resembled a delicate thread of glowing fibres.
At that moment, I knew E
[[This is the very beginning of my legendary journey in the magical realm.]]
I contemplated the choices that lay ahead: becoming an adventurous mercenary or hunter, similar to the tales I had devoured in online novels, or enrolling in an academy to expand my knowledge of magic. However, doubts creep in.
At the age of 22, was it appropriate for me to begin this path of learning? Yet, I soon reminded myself that there is no age limit to education.
At that moment, a sudden feeling of dread washed over me, as if something terrible was about to happen. And then, it happened. A deafening explosion echoed through the snowy mountain, just steps away from the portal.
"Quickly! Enter the portal!" Viviana exclaimed urgently, her body glowing as mana particles accumulated, strengthening her muscles.
Swoosh! Multiple figures clad in black cloaks appeared, their presence ominous. "Now!" a mysterious voice commanded.
Without hesitation, a barrage of elemental attacks was unleashed towards Ailith. Fireballs of different colours, a dazzling display of multicoloured lights, and an icy white path with water balls and sword-like energy arcs all targeted my figure.
Boom! Another explosive sound resonated, and a black ball-shaped projectile was propelled towards Ailith like a missile. It was aimed directly at her.
"Run towards the portal!" Ailith shouted, her voice filled with urgency. "Run! We'll enter the portal once you're safe."
I desperately wanted to fight and record these assailants, but my inability to speak restrained me. Reluctantly, I complied with Ailith's orders.
She turned towards the attackers, her gaze filled with determination. "You've made a mistake."
[Mage Berserker]
Ailith's figure seemed to distort as the air around her twisted. She was engulfed in golden particles as if donning a suit of golden armour.
The black ball closed in on her, but a shimmering blue shield materialized, emitting sparks of blue particles. Barrages of spells and attacks were deflected by her ability to guard against them. It was like witnessing countless fireballs illuminating the sky, leaving behind a trail of multicoloured pathways and a sword-like arc of energy, resembling a majestic creature.
Ailith stood there, simply gazing at her attackers, extending her hand. Her silver eyes glowed, signifying the activation of her abilities. She resembled a Valkyrie adorned in golden armour, her presence commanding.
[Dispel]
An ancient voice resonated through the silent valley of the snowy mountain. For a moment, my heart skipped a beat, wondering how Ailith would face this attack. But then, everything changed.
All incoming attacks disappeared as if they had never been there. I gasped in astonishment.
Observing Ailith's expression, I could sense her triumph. However, her expression shifted, and she warned me urgently, "Look out!"
And then, the black ball, once aimed at Ailith, collided with my abdomen.
Boom! Both the ball and I were propelled into the portal. For a moment, I believed that all was well. But then, I heard another sound.
Inside the portal, I felt a shift, as if something had changed. And in the next second, I found myself in the middle of the sky, surrounded by a barrage of clouds.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.
