When Aahan woke up, it was the following day. When he got up, he instinctively checked his neck, only to find it had healed completely. He remembered the pain when Gurudev applied holy water or 'Ganga jal¹' on his neck.
Aahan gulped his saliva as he remembered the feeling. It was as if someone invisible was trying to choke him to death, but it was somehow worse than mere choking.
"I have been choked before, but this time, it was like someone was trying to pull the soul out of my body..."
Before Aahan could pay more attention to his thoughts, he heard a loud banging on the door. He was surprised because he wasn't expecting anyone so early in the morning, and he threw on a shirt before opening the door to see Amrita standing in the hallway.
"You're late," she said, throwing an apple Aahan's way as she marched into his room, eating an apple of her own. "The classes will start in an hour."
"Classes? Weren't they-"
