"And that thought will never die. I swear." Aaron started to shake his head as Astrid added to what she had said. He didn't want to say something and start crying, so he was too busy shaking his head and squeezing himself.
Astrid was laughing that he was holding himself back from crying. It was clear that maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after tomorrow, they would start their training just like the rest of the group, and so she wanted to spend at least the first day as lovers happily.
"She likes you," Aaron said suddenly, looking away because his face was still red.
"I think so. Who would have thought that taking care of my sisters would help me," Astrid said.
"It does...it really does," Aaron said with a smile. The life he had now was what he had always dreamed of, and having it was doing nothing but making him smile.
