"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry," June said one last time.
The eyes in the room were focused on her, they were absolutely sure that when Aaron lost things and counted them they were real, not because they knew he wouldn't lie, but because of the way he looked when he said them.
He must have lost a lot.
"Rest, June. We have a lot of work to do," Aaron said, looking at her.
Nodding her head yes to what he said, June gently stood up and left the room, she would go to her own room and try to sleep as hard as she could - she could grieve forever as Kevin had said, but there were things she had to do. He would become so strong and become such a great warrior that he would stand as a figure in all the darkness and light of the future, he would protect humanity for the rest of his life and the void in his heart would be filled with the pride of protecting his family.
This was the birth of Aaron's second shadow.
