Backtracking a few minutes earlier, Jamie had just been pulled into Laird's Bounded Field, and Dar had his focus on the Void barrier around Tiris.
In the end, fighting Jamie and Miranda was not their goal here. They were here to kidnap Tiris; Jamie and Miranda were simply in the way.
From Dar's point of view, there was nothing that Miranda could do, so he left some of the traitor mercs to watch her while the others fought against the Argeryan guards trying to get to Tiris.
Dar held out his hand and reached out towards the barrier, intending to break it with his law energy. However, his law energy was completely devoured by Jamie's void power.
He frowned, conjuring a broadsword of earthen divinity and swung it at the barrier, but the sword also disintegrated on contact.
