Miranda was about to reply to Jamie's words once more when a sudden shout echoed across the quiet restaurant.
"You never listen! It's always about you and your needs!"
"Oh, please. Don't pretend you're innocent in all of this. You've become so controlling!"
The couple's gaze turned to the corner, where another couple angrily exchanged words, slicing through the restaurant's tranquil atmosphere.
A waiter discreetly approached, nervously trying to diffuse the situation but they were too absorbed in their bitter exchange, their relationship unravelling before the eyes of others present.
