Chereads / Beyond the Bloodline / Chapter 35 - Metallithurge

Chapter 35 - Metallithurge

(Hey Guys. Friendly neighbourhood author _michael here.

So, I made a mistake and scheduled this chapter wrongly, so it did not upload when it was meant to. Don't know if some of you noticed the discrepancies.

But anyway, this is the actual Chapter 35 that's supposed to come after 'Chapter 34- And the Suit Burns out.'

I also made a few changes to the chapters that come in after this, so do well to go over them again If you have read them before.

I'd tack in a Bonus Chapter as well after correcting the error. 😉

Enjoy!

Thanks for your understanding.

P.S. For those who want to see the FL, she's coming in very soon.

Over and Out!}

◇ ◇ ◇

Glox enveloped his body in his life aura to heal his wounds, doing the same to Hecragar whose half of his face had been turned into a spiralling mass of flesh constantly spurting blood by Jamie's kick.

{Each of his attacks has that spatial distortion, and his purer law energy makes it far stronger than normal.

*SPIT!

He al-}

{KIAAAAKKKKKK!!!!!!!}

The giant spoke after spitting out black blood, about to continue when a high-pitched screech suddenly resounded across the area, carrying with it, sound waves that swept across the area, nearly knocking Glox out of the air.

{That friggin' Banshee!}

The winged monster screamed out in rage as he turned in the direction the sound waves originated from, about to let out a string of curses.

But his words were suddenly caught in his throat when he realised that he could no longer sense the presence of the monster responsible for the sound wave emission just now.

{…}

{…she's dead.}

The two instantly realised that the omnidirectional sound waves were a last-stand attack by the monster in question who had been ganged upon by three other Legendries and defeated.

"Thanks, a lot, um…What was your name again, winged guy?"

{{?!}}

Both monsters turned around with shocked expressions, their eyes taking in the figure of the Hybrid they were fighting who was casually walking up to them whilst buckling the belt of his new pair of trousers.

"I got a chance to change my trousers to one of my old ones thanks to all the smoke and flames.

But anyway, you have some really nasty abilities there. Negative Life Energy, been a while since I've seen that one."

Jamie continued talking as if he did not notice the shocked expression on the faces of the two while bending down to tie his sneaker laces properly.

"Anti-Regeneration, Unhealing, Lethality Manipulation, Soul Torment, and Vitality Drain.

Together with one big explosion to top it off…you're pretty harsh."

He calmly listed out all the negative life energy abilities that had been infused into the beam of dark green light that Glox had launched towards him not too long ago, and from his current appearance, it could be seen he was still suffering the effects of some of them.

His torso bore a sprawling scar, a deep gash stretching across his chest, where blood continued to gush out continuously.

A fierce battle raged between his regenerative powers and the anti-regeneration that negated his healing, conflicting for dominion over the wound's fate.

Jamie then took a deep breath and roused his energy, the clear blue waves seeping out of his body and shattering the dark green coat of negative energy concentrated around his wound into pieces of light.

As the opposing force of anti-regeneration was ejected, Jamie's regenerative prowess reclaimed its dominance.

In a heartbeat, the gaping wound that marred his chest sealed shut, flesh knitting together at a pace imperceptible to most.

Even Glox and Hecragar were only able to barely see it happen with their superior Kinetic Vision.

'This doesn't even make sense anymore!'

That was Glox's honest thought as Jamie's regeneration was downright illegal as far as he was concerned.

Sure, Legendary Realm existences with X Rank health stats all possessed regenerative factors, but this differed depending on race, class, skill and other circumstances.

With his negative life energy, Glox could either slow down or completely negate this regeneration, regardless of whether the target was inferior or a superior stage.

That was just how his ability worked.

However, the speed at which Jamie's wounds just healed, was far greater than what any Legendary could hope to ever achieve, and it should be noted that before Jamie removed the anti-regeneration, his other injuries from the explosion had still been able to heal without issue.

"Anyway, since we're doing 'Negative' things."

Jamie who had now tossed on one of his old polo shirts, waved his hand and generated multiple tears in the space fabric behind him to form an array of portals.

*SNAP!

**WOOOONNNGG!!

His finger snap conjured beams of negative space, forces holding the absence of matter, in the form of void-like beams that tore through the air with a strange sound.

Glox's brain did not even compute the thought of attempting to block these beams, instantly flapping his wings and flying out of the way whilst leaving multiple wooden golems in the estimated trajectories of the beams.

Upon impact, the negative space collapsed upon them, eroding and shattering them completely.

{Hecragar!!}

{I know!}

The giant responded to Glox's shout with one of his own, before jumping backwards to take distance away from Jamie, something the Hybrid wasn't going to let happen.

He clenched his fist and tried to constrict the space around the giant, but the glyphs on his arms flashed and the spatial compression was rebounded, much to Jamie's shock.

Landing on the ground with a loud boom, the giant punched his four hands to the ground, before then raising them up and punching his fists together.

{Unique Skill: Metallithurge!}

The dark red glyphs etched upon his arms lit up with an eerie glow, and the ambient energies of the universal laws of earth and metal were drawn into the giant's body endlessly.

Motes of molten metal swirled around him, converging around his arms and encasing them in a dark red coating of energy.

He slammed his palms against the ground with a resounding noise, sending forth space-rupturing shockwaves spreading forward.

From the ruptures emerged jagged spikes and razored blades forged from molten metal and raw earth hurling towards Jamie with lethal force.

The Hybrid chuckled lightly as he activated his azure inferno skill and condensed the cobalt blue flames into a single sword-based construct which he grabbed in his arms and swung forward, releasing an enormous and destructive discharge of energy.

**BOOOM!! BOOOOMMM!!!

The flames clashed with the weapons forged from earth, with multiple explosions ringing out in quick succession as the two attacks neutralized each other.

Jamie circulated his energy quickly, lifting himself up with spatial power and shooting towards the array of explosions, only to halt his flight midway as the ground in front of him suddenly surged upward in a devastating geyser that threatened to impale him.

{Abyssal Spikes!}

{Arc Convergence!}

The two monsters attacked simultaneously, with Hecragar summoning the power of the dark red glyphs to erupt the ground beneath Jamie with a series of enormous spikes forged of earth and metal, whilst the debuff-laden beam of concentrated dark light surged towards him from behind.

*SNAP!

Ambient spatial energy responded to the intent behind Jamie's finger snap, giving birth to a mesmerizing blue vortex that shimmered with light behind him.

Ripples spread outward across the air around the wormhole, Glox's beam emission attack shot straight into it, after which the wormhole shrunk rapidly before vanishing.

The monster was surprised slightly, but knowing Jamie had spatial-type powers, he didn't find it strange and blitzed straight towards the Hybrid who had created a cutting field below him with dimensional lines.

Each one left a tangible mark on the space below him, making all the spikes Hecragar summoned to be subjected to a spatial slicing effect and split into pieces.
