"Don't you remember, Caleb's incident?" raising his eyebrows a man in his mid-forties crossing his hands against his chest, looked at Cyrus, waiting for his response.
Pressing his lips, Cyrus slowly pulled out his wallet from his left pocket, As he opened it, he was introduced to a picture that captured in it, a beautiful fairy-like woman with a soothing smile, in her arms, she carried a kid not less than 5years, the girl wore a white dress with a flowery crown on her head her innocence and cute little face was of an angel, Anybody would risk their life to save the little angel in human form, Cyrus was her father, he was willing to sacrifice himself to save her, creasing his fingers on the picture of her dead wife and captured daughter,
"It's worth it, any punishment even death is acceptable", Cyrus smiled painfully.
" She might not recognize you, What then? All your hard work and sacrifice will just....." Without letting the man complete his words,
Cyrus panicked, "What do you mean by my daughter won't recognize me?" fear in his eye was clearly visible so was his curiosity, before he could listen to the response, An alarm rang, and people who missed it by a second or two will have to work overtime for two straight days with no proper meals and sleep.
Of course, the man cared about his meals and sleep, Thus he left Cyrus there with unanswered questions and walked away, making Cyrus dive deep into his ocean of fear, Unaccepting the fact of unanswered questions, Cyrus got up abruptly and followed his coworker to demand his answers, only to be held back by the cleaner,
"No, don't do that. Unless you want some lashes on your back or maybe want to see yourself in the freezing basement," the cleaner whispered to Cyrus as he continued mopping the floor.
Clenching his fist, Cyrus swallowed his anger, "She might not recognize you" These words started playing in his head, "My little angel Amy, Daddy is gonna find you soon" Just the thought of his daughter's condition saddened him, Fueling his patience he walked back to his table.
{Feifei's POV}
Our conversation didn't last for 2mins, not because Michael was busy, I was the one to shorten the discussion, Talking to him Saddened me his tone, his answers made me feel alien, it was as though I was asking for an address to a random passerby who is in hurry, to catch his train, Disconnecting the call, I was on the verge of hitting my head on the wall and bleeding to death, but on second thought, even death wouldn't be capable of reducing my pain,
Inhaling all sadness and swallowing all the pain lurking in my heart and mind, I walked down to have my dinner...
"How shameless one can be? to return back after humiliating their family," cutting her steak, Jiayi, Feifei's elder aunt, muttered as she put the piece in her mouth.
"Ah! To her, Shame means nothing, Elder Sister," smirked Luli, her younger aunt, "Being shameless is in her nature, passed down by her mother, Wasn't she the same?" she chuckled.
Biting her lower lips, Feifei took a step back to return to her room, gulping down her hunger, she made her way towards the stairs only to be stopped by a voice.
"Your food is getting cold, Feifei grab your seat and complete your dinner,"
"But Grandpa, I..... Cutting her words Grandpa Han continued, "Aya, Haiza, you look so pale, and you are still recovering from your sickness, and you dare to skip your dinner, eh?" Making her way towards the dinner table, Feifei pulled the chair to sit.
