With her eyes filled with tears, while watching Giovanni pointing a gun at her which she knew was loaded, she could have stopped all these drama by telling him the truth, but having been fed up with his attitude towards her since he knew about this pregnancy, she was better off raising her kids alone than with someone like him.
The courage that surged through her nerves, that made her continue to look deep into his eyes which dared him to do what he wanted to, to kill her and end this madness once and all for all.
She shouldn't have made him know that she existed, that she was carrying his kids. Alina was right, she should have continued at the diner where she was working, and adding more side jobs to survive would have saved her from this insult she was receiving at his hands.
