"Ow! What the fuck!?" Azier shouted as he shook his hand rapidly and extinguished the flame as he stopped the flow of mana to his palm. "Wasn't that supposed to be a ball or something?"
Amyra sighed and answered him with a patient, yet knowledgeable tone. "Yes, darling - that is because you didn't regulate it with water from the air. You're not ready yet to control fire, you haven't even started on the other elements. Fire is easiest, and it's impressive you unlocked it on your own...but... you need to understand the rest of the elements to make your mana useful."
She went on and even though it was dark, he knew her eyes were still locked onto him. He could feel her teacher's stare even when it wasn't visible.
"For now, make light again so you can learn how to draw this sigil and cast it from wood. I think I saw some around here somewhere as we came down."
