Tobias stared at Azier as he gave him the saddest, most pathetic look he had ever given. His eyes were wide and glistened with tears, and his brows were bunched so hard that they nearly touched.
He wasn't sure why he decided to go along with it...maybe because the woman was very lovely, and very useful - but he affirmed his brother's claims, despite their falsehood. "Yes, I found her on a broken ship - she was the lone survivor and I took her in for study."
Another lie....but that was pushed on by the guilt that crept up on him like a cold shadow. It loomed over his soul and caused his spine to chill and fill his body with ice.
"Oh?" Azier mused out with interest. "Have you found anything new? Anything good?"
