Azier hadn't been able to delve into Tobias' mind at all. In fact, he had just begun to peer into the vast stars of memories that glittered and shined beautifully when he was ripped backwards into the waking world.
Something had been off in there, but he had gotten just a glimpse, and he hadn't been able to tell exactly what it was. For now, all he felt was a deep pain as someone pulled at his head by the threads of his deep black hair.
He heard the familiar rip of muscles as they severed.
Again.
"Fuck!" Azier shouted as he reconciled with both the agony, and annoyance that he had lost another body - yet again...and this time he had no way to reform with how little magic he had to produce.
The man who seized him was familiar only in his voice and mannerisms - but the rest of him? The rest of him looked like an amalgamation of bone, flesh, and metal. Not even his face was free from magical enhancements.
