Azier's head pounded as he started to come to. The sky was dark, but filled with bright stars, which to him meant he had been out cold for some time.
He hadn't noticed much of anything around him, since he was far too focused on the fact he was naked, cold, and very much in pain. It hadn't even dawned on him yet that he wasn't on the ship. All his senses caught for him in the moment was the smell of sand, dry blood, and....damp...
You know that smell that permeated in the worst of places? It was often 'earthy', sweet, and had an undertone of fungi...or better put; damp. Wet. Gross.
Once his brain made sense of the scent, and started to put itself back together, it was then he noticed the brick walls, the high, open 'ceiling' with bars over the top, and the chains that had been so fruitlessly clasped around him.
