He wasn't sure when boredom had caused him to finally pass out, but it was obvious he had fallen asleep when a large feathered pillow plopped down onto his sleeping head that caused him to jolt up at attention.
"Ow!"
"You bastard! You were here one night and you already conned some poor girl into being your wife!? What-" Ilsandra paused to hit his face again, "is", another smash to the face, "wrong" and another, "with" and another.... "you!" and one more for emphasis.
"You scoundrel! You prick! You disgusting little-"
"You're done now," Azier commanded with an anger he had never tapped into before. Sure he could take a verbal beating - but insinuating he tricked or conned a woman into something was actually greatly offensive.
Ilsandra actually listened, and backed away from him. His terrifying demeanor must have caught her off guard as he sat up and glared at her with two eyes filled with rage and sanguine fire.
"Now you listen to me, Ilsandra. I'm done with your insults about my honor. Call me what you want - but never in all my days or years have I ever taken advantage of someone - especially a woman. I earn their affections on my own merit. Just because you're some stone-cold cunt and hate me for unknown reasons, doesn't mean I'm not actually a decent person who doesn't go around using the vulnerable. I don't have my arms and legs - but I can fly now - and if you think I'm nothing to mess with - go ahead and try me. This is the last time you will ever imply I would do something so vile, do you understand?" Alhazier had never been so angry in all his life. Hell, he had just learned the fate of all of his brothers, and that hadn't awoken the beast within him.
To insult was one thing - to imply something disgusting was over the line.
Ilsandra sat stunned, and for the first time in his presence was silent and wide-eyed with fear she tried to hide in her stone gaze....but he could smell it.
"Does Azrianna know you're in her room? Are you her mother? What gives you the right to dictate her decisions and life? I happen to enjoy her company very much, and if she is going to have to be Azrael's bride, then I'm going to save her from such a fate. I would offer the same to you, but I have a feeling you'd just hit me some more."
The captain of the vessel glared at him, but didn't utter a word. Instead, she threw down the pillow she had and stomped out of the room with a huff - probably because he had a point.
This was the second time Ilsandra had woken him up rudely now, and it wasn't something he was growing fond of the more she did it.
"Ilsandra, you didn't..." Amyra's voice came from the hallway.
"Don't talk to me right now," the red head spat and shoved her way past the scholarly brunette.
"Oh..." she let out with disapproval.
Amyra's head eventually poked around the corner and looked into the room and gave a soft wave to the incomplete prince. "I'm sorry about her - are you alright?"
Azier was taken back with confusion and made a sour face at her, "why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong, my dear."
"Still... she has...issues, and she is very protective of us - especially Azrianna and Sera. It's... a long story, but they are like her little sisters. She forgets they are over 400 years old and can make their own decisions. I mean - we're surprised, but not by you..." Amyra spoke to him and leaned on the door on her hip with her arms crossed.
"Oh? Do tell..."
"Azrianna has never been the type to feel safe with anyone - even with the circumstances, it's still odd..."
"What do you mean circumstances? The Azrael thing?"
"No, the whole promised thing... Did she not say anything about that?" Amyra raised her eyebrows in both surprise and curiosity.
"....Nnnnnoooo..." Azier let roll off his tongue with apprehension. Holy shit. Did he just steal another princess from someone other than Azrael? Dammit. It was his brother's betrothal all over again.....
"Oh...Oh wow... Okay, well you should ask her about that. It's probably the reason she took to you so well, but also that she wanted you to...anyway.. not my business. I came to ask if you want anything to eat? Azrianna and Zephyra are the ones hunting tonight, and they usually bring back good stuff since Azrianna can swim, and Zephyra is really accurate with her aim...It's pretty amazing to watch, really."
"Did I cause an international crisis or something?" He wondered out loud, and hadn't meant to.
"International? Hah. There are no more nations, Azier. Your brother /is/ the nation....and no - you didn't do anything worse than you've already done. Like I said, you'll have to ask her later. I'm surprised she didn't tell you last night is all." Amyra answered and waved off his worry with a simply hand gesture.
"Ah... so...what brings you here other than breakfast?" He had a deep suspicion that wasn't her goal - no woman ever went out of their way to lean on a doorway to ask about breakfast. This was the stance of someone who needed - or wanted - to talk about something. He knew well enough that look and that demeanor.
"You're perceptive," she grinned and then nodded. "Yes, I did come here to talk to you about something else...."
"Alright, by all means - please tell me," Azier leaned back on the pillows again to give his core a break - it was oddly hard to stay up without legs to anchor him. It felt like he had done a thousand sit-ups.
"Are you planning on being a one-woman kind of prince from now on?"
"Well that is quite the question, miss scholar." He mused out with delight.
"Don't play coy - just tell me...Is that what you are planning? I need to let a few ladies down if that's the case," she answered and fidgeted a little.
"I wasn't planning on it, no....She asked me, and I obliged. Please don't tell me that she's talking about that..." he felt uneasy suddenly. Had he just bound to a jealous, crazy-type? Shit.
"No no no - no one is foolish enough to think they'd ever be one's only bride. I just... wanted to know if I should try harder or something to get your attention," Amyra stated and seemed to tuck her arms around herself tighter as if to prop her large breasts up more.
"Oh, you have my attention my dear. I'd happily give you my company if you'd like. If you don't think it would cause a rift between you two, I'll visit your bed tomorrow morning," he offered slyly.
She shivered a little and nodded with a grin. "I uhh... I heard your activities last night, and I'd also like to get a taste of whatever it was you did to Azrianna last night..."
"Oh? It was merely my talented tongue, nothing special. If you're fine to settle for that instead of my amazing fingers, we can work something out. I mean, if that's what you need...I'd hate to not be a valuable asset to the ship and all. I have to earn my keep somehow, right?" He suggested and found his cock stir below the sheets as he thought about embracing the bombshell brunette standing before him.
"I'm glad you see it that way, Azier. I look forward to experiencing your contributions to our efforts, then. Other than that, the offer for a meal is still there- and if we're lucky they'll get a big porpoise to share. Come to the galley when you're ready, handsome" she flirted and blew him a kiss as she bumped herself off of the ledge of the doorway and turned around slowly so he could admire her own assets.
This was feeling more and more like a trap set up by Azreal - but it was the best trap he'd ever been set in and he couldn't help but dance right into it. What a way to die if he was going to go -- and besides, he was positive that he could figure a way out of it before it was too late.
The gamble was too good to let go - and so his brain filled up with all the things he was going to do to Amyra when he finally got her alone.
