As soon as their meeting had ended, Azier and Amyra left his study to explain the plan to Azrianna and Yrsula, who had been in the library where they practiced reading together, as was the norm for the duo in the early hours of the night.
The look that his raven-haired wife gave him broke his heart. It was filled with happiness to see him, and was completed by a smile that would have usually melted his foul mood.
It just wasn't possible for it to change this time. It hurt too badly to reveal to her the new plans for their upcoming steps, and even her bright eyes couldn't null the words he spoke.
"I have news neither of you are going to like," he started without much thought. It was best to rip the scab off of the wound now more than ever.
"Amyra and I discussed and compared our dreams, and she thinks it best if I go with the humans, along with you, Yrsula....and I agree."
