Never had a moment sobered him as much as this one. He didn't know how to love.
How does one then learn to do so if what he portrayed wasn't as he thought it was?
"What is love, Yrsula?" He finally posed to her and waited for a reply like a hungry wolf who awaited its meal.
"Well.." She began softly. "I'm not sure what it /is/, but I can tell you what it isn't..."
"Fair enough," he replied and motioned for her to go on.
"It's not selfish, or unkind. It's... putting someone above yourself because you want to, not because you have to. I know that it is powerful and can overcome almost anything, and from what other humans say of magic - it's the most powerful magic that could ever exist."
That sounded foolish to him. Why had he never heard of it before, then?
"Are you sure? If that was true, then wouldn't have all of the powerful lords of before utilized it?"
Her reply was quick, and knocked him off his feet a bit.
