In a foul mood from pain, hunger, and now annoyance from how difficult it had been to finally have this dead animal dragged back to the castle, and through the door.
The first thing he noticed other than how hard it was to get the elk through the door, was that it was dark. He couldn't even see the glow of the red light from Yrsula's location - and then he smelled it - her blood. It wasn't much, but it was caught right there in his nostrils and tantalized him, as well as worried him.
He followed the scent until it got close to him, and as his eyes adjusted he could see her on the second landing of the large staircase where she lay on her side. Azier didn't even wait to check for her heart beat before he dashed to her with speed and scooped her up towards his chest.
"Yrusla?" His panic wasn't muffled as he tenderly shook her. "Are you alright?"
When her eyes shot open, he hugged her tightly and sighed out. "Fuck. I thought you were hurt...."
