Chapter 11 - Eye've Been Dying to Meet You

Okay, he was disappointed - not gonna lie to himself here... He was so certain that Azrianna was going to sleep in the bunk with him that he had gotten excited. As soon as his head rested in her sweet-scented pillows that reminded him of roses and ash, she bid him a gentle farewell and said she would come back to collect him later.

So there he sat, grumpy, bored, and completely dejected. While on one hand he had a Cinder for his own, the other hand was empty and he sat alone in a bed - something that was so rare he couldn't even remember the last time he slept alone before the whole punishment thing...

Alas, here he was - alone, horny, and bored.....and he wanted to be under Evyra's bed again where he had bras and pretty panties to roll into and admire. Right now all he had was black bed sheets, red pillows, and a rather impressive silk drapery that could close and give him privacy (if he had his damn arms, anyway).

Ah, whatever - there was at least nice artwork around. He wondered if she had painted them herself, because they weren't framed or signed in big letters like the artists he once knew. They loved to see their names on their pieces, and if he had Azrianna pinned right, she didn't seem to like the limelight.

Either way, they were nice and had the subject matters of owls, birds, and some kind of animal he had never seen before -- it was oddly adorable. It had four legs, and what looked like soft fur that dogs had, but the tail was long and curled into a question mark, and its ears were pointed and had tufts of fur poking out of it. Plus, its eyes were weird - like two slits that belonged to the old Dragons he read about.

He rather liked it. Was it something she made up? If so, it was quite the creation.

As his thoughts were turning around the perplexing creature, he was interrupted by a new face who poked her head into the room with curiosity.

He guessed none of them had expectations of privacy.

The two orange eyes that peered behind luscious locks of auburn brown. Her hair was straight, and short - cut at a nice precision across her shoulders, and her bangs had a nice wisp to them that sat just above her eyebrows. It framed her face, but also gave him a peak at her slender neck.

Just like her other five sisters, this one was alluring, and her eyes looked more like fire than your average orbs. They shined with life, and excitement like she was meeting a celebrity.

Now that was a nice turn.

"No. Way." She squealed and made her way towards him with her hands pressed to her chest as though she needed to calm herself.

"If you're referring to the head, then yes - yes it's true. I am indeed a talking head.....oh, and my body is missing, too." Azier said with his classic grin. Her eyes made him excited as he stared into them - it seemed her mood was infectious. She must have had an aural-like power, but he wasn't sure yet.

What was really odd, were the spectacles she had on her face. They had a pretty blue lenses that hid how bright her eyes actually were when was able to spy the oranges in her orbs when she turned her head to see if she had knocked over something her elbow hit on Azrianna's dressing table.

A ship full of beautiful women with exceptional talents? Damn all of creation for tempting him to keep them as his own. He could /almost/ imagine the possibilities...uhg, but the effort...

"Oh I know all about you and your curse, Prince Alhazier Varkys. Your father was the most feared Emperor in history~." She started with a trill in her voice as she got even close to him with beaming smile.

"Wait... You know who I am? You know my family name? Impressive... I though I was erased from history," he said with surprise and genuine respect for her knowledge.

"Oh, you were -- for the most part. Your mother tried to get you returned to her when your father died. She did a whole campaign about it," the stranger spoke more than he even knew about his life, it seems.

"Wait...my father hadn't killed her? He had told me he was going to kill her..." Azier's voice lowered into that of concern when it came to his mother, who was so very much like Azrianna and Zephyra combined.

"No. She was cast out - and she went to a lot of different lords for help, but they all turned her down - even your half-brothers," the woman went on.

"Yeah, they kind of sucked....." he relayed casually and sighed. "Do you know if she is alive?"

"Uhm..." she stared uncomfortably.

"I take it that the answer is quite uncomfortable," the prince replied as he read her grimace and hesitation.

"Mmmm..." she let out thoughtfully and looked away briefly. "-but that isn't the point. You're here - you're really here. THE Alhazier, the man who took down King Varkys and stopped his eternal reign of madness."

"Wait, I did that?"

"Yeah. You drank his potion, right? The Forbidden Fruit as it were?" She asked with interest as she neared him and picked him up with two hands that weren't as rough as Evy's but not as smooth and flawless as Azrianna's. She must have read a lot - her fingers did have some hardiness to them.

"You seem to know more about me than I do of you. How about we slow down here and you maybe give me your name?"

"Oh, right - sorry. I'm Amyra, I'm just obsessed with history, and to see a real person from over 300 years ago alive and able to tell me things is just so exciting. When I heard your name from the others, I had to make sure you were the Cursed Prince -- and you are!" Amyra said and clapped her hands as though she succeeded a mission.

"I am. I really, really am. It's nice to feel like I have a fan again. You have no idea how much I appreciate you right now, Amyra." He wasn't lying. He had just been on the edge of contemplating how lonely and unknown he was in this new time, and now he had a fan just like the old days.

"Really?" She said with a wide smile followed by a soft, 'heehee'.

"Really. Now...Is there any way I can talk you into giving me some history lessons? You seem like a great teacher," Azier offered with a hint of truth. He didn't honestly know if she would be or not, but charm had never let him down.

Including now, as she nodded her head rapidly in agreement as she bit her lower lip.
