Everything in this palace was filled with disappointment, death, and destruction.
The Smoking Lounge was no different it turned out. Even the once glorious fireplace had its gems chipped off, the gold removed, and the designs destroyed. What used to be two Gargoyles that snarled on either side of the mantle, were now nothing more than headless beasts with no wings, and upper torsos that had been smashed.
The skeletal remains of several servants still dressed in their outfits were slung about the room, and wreckage from bookshelves, tables, and the comfy red chairs he had fallen asleep many a night in were everywhere.
Even the red rug with purple designs carefully stitched into them had been slashed, and worst of all - the large family portrait about the fireplace had been drawn over with slurs, and his mother's face marred with puncture holes from a blade.
