Chapter 5:how to break a truth
I exit the cupboard panicked and I noticed the bandits were gone but shanks' shirt was soaked and his hair was soaked and a darker red.. I frown uncomfortable, I glanced around and noticed Luffy, who was rather angry and huffed and yelled at shanks…my fingers shook slightly and my teeth clenched. I glanced down as Luffy began to leave the party's bar but got stopped by shanks who grabbed his wrists..suddenly time froze..I felt a headache..I could feel eyes on me from all over, maybe I was joust paranoid..though Luffy didn't stretch he just glared back at Shanks and shanks seemed unimpressed.. I shifted and looked towards the broke doors that were broken off the hinges. I then heard gasps and yells as I look back towards Lucky roo and Shanks, Even the whole crew. They were all panicking as the empty chest was opened and shown around. It was like party's bar was on lock down. The doors were blocks and everyone was more serious.. I looked down and just leaned against the stool.. I glanced up noticing a pat on the head. It was Makino, she could tell that I was tense.. I just leaned into it slightly, though I could the embarrassment in the corner of my mind.
Everyone was looking everywhere pitching in as Luffy looked confused. Luffy just whined about some food and Makino said to give them a moment.. I clenched my fists before unclenching them. There were whispers, speculation it could be crew involved since the bandits didn't approach the bar unless it was the main bandit that spilt alcohol on shanks' head. I glance up noticing shanks staring at me intently before turning away, ordering everyone to go back to the ship. I glanced up and asked quietly if I had to go with and shanks gave me a sharp nod. I just sighed and slowly walked back to the ship, Shanks walking next to me, he seemed more serious not goofing around as much as before..
I glance back at Party's bar and just sighed as everyone was now on the ship. The atmosphere was heavy.. I gently ran a finger through my hair, the short and long uneven length flowing through my fingers as I raked it through. My hair felt fluffier then before..the nervousness making my hands slightly shake..I suddenly felt something heavy weigh down on my heart.. I gasp and glanced up..a thick aura spread through, multiple people were weakened on their knees though I felt fine..maybe it was because I wasn't originally from here and my soul didn't get affected.. I hope I didn't eat a devil fruit for nothing . I suddenly heard gasps and yells.. everyone seemed to be a little caught off guard, shanks was suggesting something? I try to listen to it, going on my tippy toes. I tilted my head, walk the plank, there was mutters but I felt my heart jump and bang against my rib cage. Some were unhappy through Ben Beckman didn't tolerate it one bit and sit they could give up on being a pirate if they didn't follow their captains orders.. I look up at Shanks and he was looking coldly at everyone. His eyes raking through everyone's faces, even mine.
"Everyone is a suspect, so get into a solid line..". I got my lip at shanks' statement and wanted to sneak away and slowly hid behind some people..I shifted and when everyone was distracted I ran down to my room. It was pretty small, I wasn't ready to die.. I was only 9 years old . I shakily gathered my clothing, I was nervous.. I pulled on my cheek again and it stretched slightly..maybe it need time to activate. I grabbed clothing, soap, and the key essentials. I packed a lot of socks and a couple pairs of shoes and boots also medicine. I grabbed a knife from in a chest she had for storage.. I originally swiped it from a chest..
I shifted out the room bag in hand and looked out noticing people were still jumping though there were a few eyes looking around.. I bit my lip, how was I supposed to leave the ship, especially since Yasopp had.great Observation Haki from what I remember from that movie, along with everyone else who was a top member.. I slowly crept by people though they didn't question it.. I continue to sneak by them and slowly made my way off the ship, they seemed distracted.. though I could see shanks sneak a glance at me along with Yasopp.. I hurried made me way through the town till I admittedly got lost. I look around and continue on a dirt trail and soon there was garbage everywhere and many people eyeing me up. I glare and looked around. Suddenly I heard shouts and turned to the left seeing a blonde kid with a top hat and a Black haired kid with freckles jumping a guy stealing his money while also beating him up and knocking him out. I immediately turn away not wanting to get involved with the two guys.. I look through my bag, a brown satchel. I slowly made my way through the trash heaps nearly tripping and falling through endless trash. I sigh, feeling a dwelling on my heart..maybe I should head back to shanks..though I shook it off and continued to look around trying to make it through the trash piles till I got to the woods.. I tilt my head, a forest..lush green, my eyes sparkled Slightly, I always wanted to go to the Amazon forest..the forests always seemed so peaceful and beautiful.
I continue my way through the forest and notice a jack rabbit.. I bit my lip, I didn't like killing animals for hunger but I slowly drawn the dagger type knife and swung hard decapitating it. I immediately felt sick and turned my head away, maybe I should've stuck with the berries..gross
I grabbed the lifeless jackrabbit by the legs and slowly carried it through the forest till I found a remote spot for myself. Watching wildlife TV along with Girl scouts really came in handy. I began to dig with my hands and dirt got into my nails I made a face and grabbed rocks and sticks that were huges and set them in the pile.. I look around for a water source or at least sand and grabbed a small cup from my bag that I brought with me and filled it up at a small river near by. I made it back and slowly cut and butchered the Jack rabbit. I felt sick and immediately push the insides away with a stick.. that was gross.. I grabbed a dry stone and a couple sticks and began to try to make a fire. Soon enough it ignited and came to life. I sigh and began to roast the meat.. I grabbed the cup of water and noted the slight salt at the bottom of the cup..
Maybe camping can help clear my mind.. I'll just tell shanks the truth..I won't be considered destructive..he may still leave me at an island..but oh well.. I took a breath and watched the meet slowly burn..I wish I had seasonings.. i rested my chin on my knees and just watched the meat cook
I jumped hearing a crack and saw the two boys from earlier..they were drooling slightly..they seemed hungry..were they gonna jump me too? I glared slightly as the one with the freckles approached first and scoffed about to say something when the blonde said respectfully "that smells good..can we please have some .we haven't all eaten all day" He bowed his head and forced the dark haired one to also how.. I raised a brow and sighed throwing them the pieces of meat on 2 sticks..I still had 3 sticks for myself..I can save it or something..
They nearly scarfed it down and I rose a brow as the freckles one huffed. "Seriously that's all you caught". Though the blonde haired one smacked his head and said respectfully. " Thank you for the food.." I nodded before I was startled as the freckled one grabbed the sticks of meat wildly and moved back handing the one to the blonde one as he ate the other one .great that left me with one.
