When the meal was over, Helian Duxuan didn't immediately move to leave. Instead, he rested his chin on his hand, watching her with an unreadable expression.
"You'll have dinner with me next," he said casually.
Wei Zhinian choked on her drink. "Excuse me?"
"Dinner," he repeated. "Tomorrow."
She shook her head. "I—no. This was a one-time thing."
His smirk returned. "We'll see about that."
Frustrated, Wei Zhinian stood. "Thank you for the meal. But I'm going back to work."
Helian Duxuan chuckled. "I'll take you back."
She was about to argue, but she knew it would be pointless.
As they rode back to the office, she stared out the window, hoping the meal had put an end to this ridiculous game.
But deep down, she knew.
This was just the beginning.
