Thad Drew looked directly at Betsy Russell, asking again with all seriousness.
"Thad Drew, I don't like him that much," Betsy Russell said seriously, looking at Thad Drew, "I don't want to be in love, that's the truth."
Having said that, Betsy Russell glanced at her briefcase, handed it over to Thad Drew, and articulated, "I don't need the betrothal gifts."
Upon hearing this from Betsy, Thad Drew was slightly taken aback. Remembering that Betsy and Jared Hughes were to remarry, he hesitated for a long while before asking, "Aren't you getting remarried?"
With her eyelashes lowered, Betsy spoke softly, "Some things aren't as simple as they seem."
Upon hearing this, there seemed to be a glimmer of understanding in Thad Drew's eyes. A smile flashed through them as he said, "So, you didn't plan on remarrying him."
