"Betsy Russell heard Thad Drew's puzzled voice and managed to vie a smile, saying, "I don't want to stay in the hospital."
Thad saw Betsy's smile in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but smile himself. He drove to Betsy's house, parked the car in the parking lot, and helped her upstairs.
Betsy lazily sat on the couch, the sunshine from the window pouring in. The warm sensation made her want to sleep again, "Thank you for bringing me home, I can take care of myself."
What Betsy implied was, he could leave now. However, Thad seemed to not get her hint. He sat beside her, smiling at Betsy and said, "You go sleep!"
Betsy paused; she was about to ask Thad to leave, then heard him say, "Your fever hasn't gone down yet; I'll leave once Natalie gets here."
Upon hearing Thad say that, Betsy lazily sprawled on the couch, her gaze falling on Thad, who was sitting on the single couch. It seemed like she had seen someone who looked a lot like him.
