Bill Treiber hesitated with his phone in hand at the door to the office, but in the end, he raised his knuckles and knocked.
Hearing the knock, Jared Hughes sat up from the sofa, surrounded by wine bottles and a lingering smell of red wine in the air.
Jared's head was throbbing with pain. "Come in," he said.
Bill entered, his gaze inadvertently sweeping over the wine bottles on the floor. He lowered his head even more and said, "Sir Hughes called and asked you to go back."
"I know." Jared waved his hand at Bill, thinking of everything that had happened last night. His brows furrowed tighter as he looked at his phone messages from Vicki Lindsey, Chloe Lindsey, Isa Hughes, and several missed calls from Grandpa Hughes.
He opened Isa's messages and saw that everything that had happened last night was trending.
Jared got up and headed to the resting room, entering the bathroom to take a shower. His phone continued playing the audio of today's trends.
