"I'll treat you next time." Betsy Russell said with a smile, feeling a bit tired today.
Thad Drew agreed, asked Betsy's address, and reset the navigation system.
When they arrived at Betsy's place, Thad parked the car by the roadside. He nervously took his hand off the steering wheel and stared at Betsy, saying, "I'll wait for your call."
Betsy waved goodbye, got out of the car, and walked towards the apartment building.
By now, it was already late. The elevator was empty. Standing in it, she couldn't help but smile as she thought about what had happened today.
"Ding."
The elevator door opened, and as Betsy was about to step out, she saw Jared Hughes standing in front of the door.
Betsy walked out of the elevator in her high heels and ignored Jared, intending to go home, but her path was blocked by a figure.
"Mr. Hughes, what do you want?"
Betsy's beautiful eyes were filled with cold indifference as she stood there, staring at Jared.
Strange, indeed.
