Natalie knocked and came in, "Miss Russell, all the guests have arrived. Even Miss Hughes is here."
Betsy Russell withdrew her gaze from the mirror, turning her head towards Natalie, quirking an eyebrow querying, "What's she here for?"
Natalie shook her head, "Miss Hughes said she would only tell you when she sees you, so I've escorted her to the waiting room downstairs."
With a hint of amusement in her eyes, Betsy slowly continued her makeup routine. Once done, with a subtle smirk, she said, "Let's go take a look at Miss Hughes first."
She was quite curious about what scheme Isa Hughes might conjure up this time.
For today's banquet, Betsy had reserved a whole tavern. The banquet hall was on the first floor, while Betsy was on the sixteenth floor.
Betsy, with Natalie by her side, took the staircase to the lower floors, her heels clicking against the floor as she headed towards the waiting room.
