Jared Hughes picked up a cup from the side, poured a glass of water and fed Betsy Russell a few sips, then took a piece of corn candy from his pocket and stuffed it into her mouth.
The sweet aroma of corn candy spread around her lips, and Betsy Russell sobered up a bit. With a cold face, she looked at Jared Hughes and said, "I don't want to see you again."
Jared Hughes' cold eyes flashed with a trace of sadness, which quickly vanished. He calmed down and placed his well-defined hand on Betsy Russell's forehead.
His hand, as always, was cold, like a snow-capped mountain that never melts.
"You're still feverish," Jared Hughes said, tucking Betsy Russell in and looking at her disdainful eyes, recalling the Betsy Russell from the past.
The Betsy Russell from before had always looked at him with a pair of blazing eyes. He liked the way she looked at him. He didn't show it back then, but he was happy deep down inside.
