Gene Meaden was sent by Sir Hughes, and if Jared Hughes guessed correctly, Gene called to test him.
"That's true," Gene thoughtfully said while quickly sending a message to Sir Hughes with another cellphone, explaining the reason for Jared and Betsy walking the red carpet together. He casually asked, "Previously, I heard Isa say that your grandfather wanted you to walk the red carpet with Chloe Lindsey?"
Seeing Jared's silence, the smile on Gene's face gradually froze, and he asked earnestly, "Why didn't you bring her? If you had brought Chloe, the Hughes family's popularity would have remained sky-high."
"I'm driving now; I have to hang up." Jared said without hesitation, hanging up the call.
He stepped on the gas pedal, and the car sped through the streets. When he stopped, he realized that he was already parked under Betsy's apartment.
