Nancy Eyre and Chloe Lindsey are cousins, so Isa Hughes has always taken good care of Nancy.
Lowering her head and wiping away tears, Nancy shook her head gently, her expression as if she'd been grievously wronged. She caught a glimpse of her agent out of the corner of her eye, and as he nodded, a triumphant smile curled the corners of her lips. She then looked pitifully at Betsy Russell.
"Betsy Russell, I know you got the lead role through back channels," Nancy stared at Betsy defiantly, tears in her voice. "There's no need for us to be at odds with each other. We can't compete with you!"
"I earned the role through my own abilities," Betsy said expressionlessly, her eyes falling on the five vivid red marks on Nancy's face. "You deserved the beating you got."
