It wasn't until Betsy Russell was almost out of breath that Jared Hughes finally let her go.
She stood there, panting, and looked up at Jared Hughes. As she touched her slightly sore lips, she whispered, "They're a bit swollen."
Jared Hughes pulled Betsy's hand away and carefully looked at her slightly moist, red lips. He smiled and said, "They aren't."
Betsy looked at Jared in confusion. He had been somewhat quiet on the way home, and he kissed her as soon as they arrived. She didn't know what to make of his behavior.
"Baby," Jared seemed to see the confusion in Betsy's heart and said gently, "I didn't know you cared about me so much!"
Only then did Betsy understand that Jared was touched after holding his emotions in for so long. She smiled, and her beautiful eyes narrowed happily. "There are still many things you don't know about!" she said.
