"No." Jared Hughes softly said, looking into Betsy Russell's caring eyes, he couldn't help but lean in for a kiss.
Noticing Jared's intentions, Betsy quickly pulled away and whispered, "Let's go home!"
"Okay."
On the ride home, they sat in Jared's car, with a driver at the wheel, and Lisa Donovan sat in the co-driver's seat.
"What happened to the driver who caused the accident?" Betsy, previously concerned about Jared's health, realized she'd forgotten to ask about the culprit.
"The police said that the driver was drunk and mistook the accelerator for the brake," Lisa said after a while, adding, "Our people are still investigating."
Betsy asked for the police report from Lisa. When she saw that Jared's accident took place near the Eliot family's villa, she raised an eyebrow.
Once they were back home, there were only Jared and Betsy.
Betsy poured a glass of water for Jared, and sat next to him, asking earnestly, "Did you go to Eliot's house?"
