"Have you had dinner yet?" Jared Hughes asked while waiting for the traffic signal.
Betsy Russell remained silent.
Jared Hughes turned his head to glance at Betsy Russell, seeing her consistently looking down, he worriedly asked, "What happened?"
Betsy Russell still didn't say a word.
Jared Hughes drove to the ground floor of Betsy Russell building. Concerned about her unusual demeanor, he got out of the car and walked her all the way to her front door. After hesitating for a bit, he went in as well.
He casually closed the door and switched on all the lights in the house.
Looking at Betsy Russell's teary red eyes, he worriedly asked again, "Betsy Russell, what happened? Your condition seems a bit off. Are you feeling unwell? Do you want me to accompany you to the hospital?"
