At Betsy's words, Charlotte Barratt, vexed, got up, tilting herself in a seductive manner as her bedsheet was untied by Thad Drew. She gracefully tucked her loose hair behind her ears and whispered, "Miss Russell, didn't you come here to catch cheaters? You said you cared about Jared Hughes. If not, would you come? Or, do you have other motives?"
Betsy remained silent, just standing there, quietly watching Charlotte.
Charlotte continued, "Everyone says you're inseparable from Jared Hughes. Because he's been kicked out of the Hughes family, I think, you too want to kick him out, but you don't have a valid reason. But me, I gave you a reason to kick him out. As long as you find out he's cheating, you can leave him with dignity, preserving your reputation!"
