Jared Hughes walked into the hall and saw Betsy Russell holding a wine glass, casually glancing around from time to time. His heart couldn't help but rise to his throat.
He still remembered when Betsy married him and accompanied him to banquets, she would often look for him everywhere.
After the divorce, Betsy never looked for him again.
It seemed that during this time of interaction, Betsy's resistance to him had lessened.
With one hand in his pocket, he strode toward Betsy with long strides.
Coming up to her, Jared Hughes asked quietly, "Looking for me?"
Caught off guard by Jared's question, Betsy purposely put on an air of indifference. She turned to him and said calmly, "You think too much. I'm only concerned about how your work is going."
"It's a bit complicated. I'll tell you when we get home. I'm about 90% sure I can secure the resources."
Upon hearing this, Betsy's lips unconsciously lifted into a smile. "In that case, let's go home first!"
