On the way back, Jared Hughes was driving. When they stopped at a red light, Jared looked at Betsy Russell curiously, "How did you know how he cheated in cards?"
Betsy Russell didn't hide anything and explained, "I've studied videos of cheating in cards before. Simba's method is really outdated, probably not many people use it now. He even marked the cards. When I checked the cards, I could feel the marks with my fingers."
When Betsy Russell said this, her eyes were full of disdain. Not only her but even the oblivious Heather Scott noticed it too.
Having Simba play this trick on her was simply shameless.
When they arrived at the apartment building, Jared got out of the car and said to Betsy Russell, "Now I'm homeless."
Hearing Jared speaking like this, Betsy Russell looked back at him, not saying anything.
Jared shamelessly asked, "Miss Russell, could you spare me a bed?" His tight lips, however, revealed his inner anxiety.
