Joseph Kabul not only knew that Thad Drew was pursuing Betsy Russell, he also knew that Thad had been staying at Betsy's house on purpose these past days, guessing that soon the two would be together.
Although Joseph wanted to tease Thad, he accidentally caught sight of Thad's injured hand and asked worriedly, "Mr. Drew, what happened to your hand? Do you need me to take you to the hospital?"
Seeing that Betsy looked tired, Thad said, "You first send Miss Russell home."
Upon hearing Thad's words, Betsy looked up at his injured hand and pinched his palm, just to see Thad's brow slightly furrowed.
"Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital?" Betsy raised her eyebrows slightly while staring intently at Thad.
Thad smiled at Betsy and leaned in close, lowering his head and whispered, "Are you showing concern for me?"
Thad's warm breath brushed against Betsy's ear, causing her cheeks to heat up as she stepped back.
