After saying that, Thad Drew glanced at Betsy Russell and lowered his voice, saying, "Don't worry, we'll be able to leave soon. I'll call the director and let him know we'll be late."
Betsy looked at Thad, and somehow, she felt a sense of deja vu, as if she had heard that phrase somewhere before.
When the two arrived at the police station, Thad's secretary, Joseph Kabul, was already waiting at the entrance.
Upon seeing Betsy, Joseph's mouth dropped open in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure and greeted them with a smile, "Mr. Drew, Miss Russell."
"Secretary Kabul," Betsy smiled back.
Thad glanced at Joseph, saying, "We still need to give our statements."
Joseph looked at Thad meaningfully, his smile growing brighter as he replied, "Alright, I'll wait outside."
Betsy watched Joseph teasingly and thought that Thad's secretary was quite interesting.
