Thad Drew and Betsy Russell sat in the car together. Thad watched Betsy put her keychain on the key and picked up his own, saying, "These two colors are pretty matched."
"Yeah, best friend style," Betsy replied with a smile.
The smile on Thad's face paused slightly, then he laughed and said, "There are quite a few 'male best friends' too."
Betsy didn't know what to say at this point, she silently put the key back in her bag and said, "Let's go back!"
She underestimated Thad's thick skin.
The car had only been driving for a short while when suddenly, "bang!" it stopped. Betsy looked down at her phone, which had fallen to the floor, and her body involuntarily leaned forward.
Fortunately, there was a seatbelt, and at some point, Thad had already reached out and pressed her shoulder.
Betsy looked sideways at Thad, and his reaction seemed to be subconscious.
Was he protecting her subconsciously?
Just as Betsy was about to ask what had happened, Thad said, "Don't get out."
