Betsy Russell wanted to back up, but the small size of the car and the bed behind her meant she had no room to retreat. She had no idea when Natalie had stepped out.
"Let's hurry to the make-up room. It's getting late."
Thad Drew nodded with a smile. He had no scenes the previous night and visited the factory early, not expecting Sir Hughes to visit Betsy that afternoon.
At first, Thad was worried that Sir Hughes might bully Betsy, but seeing her demeanor today, he no longer had that concern.
"What do you want for lunch?" Thad asked with a smile.
"Hot pot," Betsy was not in the mood to refuse Thad this time, considering his consideration with the bunny pillow. However, she thought she should treat Thad to a meal, and asked, "Is that okay?"
"Great." Thad's smile was radiant.
Betsy lowered her gaze, unable to look into Thad's eyes for fear that she might get lost in them.
She walked by Thad, her head down.
