Grandpa Hughes' face changed suddenly, the light in his eyes disappeared instantly. He lowered his head and said weakly, "Miss Russell, actually, I don't want to do these terrible things or be the bad guy."
Betsy Russell sat calmly in her seat, wondering what new tricks Sir Hughes might have up his sleeve.
"I really want to let you and Jared be together naturally," Sir Hughes looked at Betsy with an injured expression, his eyes slightly red, and his voice choked, "I, I really want to wait for you, but I might not be able to wait any longer."
Toward the end of his speech, Sir Hughes lowered his head completely and wiped his tears with a tissue, looking extremely pitiful.
Upon seeing this, Steward Martin sensibly took out the previous medical report and handed it to Betsy, saying, "Miss Russell, Sir Hughes was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer just half a month ago!"
