"Did you find anything?" Jared Hughes's face darkened, and his hands clenched involuntarily on his knees.
"No, I've had someone watching her all the time." Bill Treiber said with a trembling voice, his back unknowingly breaking out in a cold sweat, occasionally glancing at the rear-view mirror from the corner of his eye.
Bill had already found out earlier that this matter had something to do with Isa Hughes. He understood that Isa wasn't that cunning and only Grandpa Hughes could have orchestrated all this.
He knew very well that if this matter were to be discovered, Betsy Russell would never be able to be with Jared Hughes again.
So when the matter came to light, Jared Hughes asked him to cover up the money transfers between Isa Hughes and Abe White.
But there are no walls without cracks, and if Betsy Russell's secretary found out...
