She had just stood up, her legs weak, and her body uncontrollably fell to the side.
Thad quickly caught Betsy, cradling her horizontally in his arms, and walked towards the bedroom.
"You don't have to be a stranger with me," Thad said seriously, looking at Betsy. "I'm doing all this without seeking any rewards, so you can accept it without any burden."
Hearing Thad say this, Betsy's face turned pale, looking at him as if seeing herself from years past.
"Being this way won't win love," Betsy said softly, her eyes downcast.
Because she had been through this, she didn't want Thad to end up like her in the end.
"So what?" Thad looked down, asking seriously at Betsy.
Betsy looked at Thad and said slowly, "Some things aren't worth it. You'll understand when you're older."
"I don't want to understand," Thad smiled at Betsy, and continued, "Me liking you is my business. Don't feel burdened or worry about my future. How do you know we won't have a future together?"
