Betsy Russell, hearing Jared Hughes say this, couldn't help but think of how he used to carefully look after Chloe Lindsey and of her once cowardly self, her face darkening in an instant.
Jared Hughes found a seat, put Betsy Russell down, squatted in front of her, and gentlemanly removed her high heels. He took out a band-aid with a heart drawn on it and stuck it on the broken skin on her heel.
Why did this band-aid look so familiar?
She vaguely remembered someone putting a band-aid with a heart on her heel before, but she couldn't see the person's face clearly.
If she remembered correctly, the band-aid Thad Drew had put on her before was a plain flesh-colored one.
Betsy couldn't recall who that person was who put a band-aid on her heel. She only remembered later she wore the dresses and shoes prepared by Jared Hughes for every banquet. However, strangely enough, the high heels he sent didn't hurt her feet.
