Hearing Heather Scott say that, Isa Hughes glared fiercely at her and cast her eyes on Betsy Russell's face. Just as she was about to say something, Chloe Lindsey held her back.
Isa had always listened to Chloe, so remembering the pain of being whipped, she reluctantly lowered her head and said, "I'll leave you all alone because of my sister-in-law, but you're a bunch of lowlifes!"
Heather's smile grew brighter, and she replied sarcastically, "Are you referring to an older or younger sister-in-law, Miss Hughes?"
Stung by Heather's words, Chloe's face froze, and tears welled up in her eyes, leaving her at a loss for words.
Isa shielded Chloe behind her and furiously snapped, "Shut your stinking mouth! Let me tell you, Betsy Russell will never become my sister-in-law."
