Sir Hughes saw Jared returning, squinting his eyes to hide his displeasure, and asked, "Why are you back?"
He had long regarded Jared as an outsider, so when Betsy Russell invited him to dinner, he never considered taking Jared with him.
Jared walked in and saw Isa kneeling on the ground, puzzled, he asked, "Grandpa, what's going on?"
Sir Hughes briefly explained Isa's accusations against Betsy, and looked at Isa with disappointment.
If only Isa could be as smart as Jared, he wouldn't need to worry in his lifetime.
Isa, kneeling on the ground, saw Jared and her eyes immediately lit up. She quickly stood up, ran to Jared, and begged, "Jared, you're just in time, you have to save me! Grandpa wants to use family law on me!"
"Kneel back down!" Sir Hughes shouted angrily.
Isa shuddered in fear, her legs trembling, and pathetically knelt back down, looking to Jared for help.
