Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Secret of the Yellow Orb

Jingyi walked for half a day until the sun began to set. She felt that she was far enough away from the crippled Lian and her sect, and began searching for a place to rest for the night. She soon found a nearby cave and made sure it was empty before gathering leaves and vines to block the entrance. With the cave secured, she sat down and pulled out Lian's dantian, preparing to absorb it.

As she consumed the dantian, she felt a rush of power coursing through her body. Suddenly, she received a notification that there were changes in her body. Her devil side had decreased to 70%, her demon side remained at 22%, and her human side had increased to 8%. She felt her body becoming more stable, but the process caused her to experience even more pain than she had during her previous qi deviation.

After the absorption was complete, Jingyi took out a healing elixir and drank it, allowing her body to heal. As she waited for the effects of the elixir to take hold, she reflected on what had happened. She had crippled Lian and taken her dantian, but she knew it was necessary. She need strength to protect herself and unless she managed to stabilize this body fully she would never gain any.

As the night grew darker, Jingyi settled into a meditative state, allowing her body to heal and her mind to focus on her next move. She knew she had to be cautious from now on, as her actions had made her an enemy of Lian's sect. She resolved to continue on her mission, no matter what obstacles lay in her path.

As dawn broke, Lian's master was a formidable female cultivator at the late Core Formation level. She had invested a lot of time, effort, and cultivation resources into training Lian, who had shown great promise. So when she found Lian lying on the ground, her dantian dug out, and her cultivation completely destroyed, she was beyond furious.

Her master's face turned red with anger as she awakened Lian and demanded to know what had happened. Lian, trembling with fear, explained how Jingyi who was human but had the constitution of a devil had crippled her and taken her dantian. Her master's eyes widened with disbelief and then narrowed in anger.

"How could you let this happen, Lian?" her master spat out. "You were supposed to be my prized disciple, and you let a mere mortal cripple you? Do you know how many cultivation resources I've wasted on you? And now you're also nothing but a useless mortal!"

She kicked Lian in retribution, causing Lian to cry out in pain. Lian tried to beg for her master's help, but her master was not interested in helping her. "You are no longer a member of this sect," her master declared before abandoning her.

Lian screamed in rage and promised to kill Jingyi, her heart filled with anger and revenge. She knew she had to find a way to regain her cultivation and exact her revenge.

Jingyi, on the other hand, had no idea of the trouble brewing behind her. She continued traveling, the sun high in the sky and the heat beating down on her. As she walked, she felt a strange sensation in her stomach - a rumbling that she had never experienced before. Confused, she stopped and tried to understand what was happening.

As an AI, the concept of eating to maintain one's strength had never occurred to her. She closed her eyes and accessed the information archive in her mind on this world, hoping to find some answers. After a few moments of searching, she finally discovered that non-cultivators needed to eat two to three meals a day to maintain their strength and energy.

Jingyi was surprised by this revelation. It was strange to think that something as basic as eating was necessary to maintain one's strength. She had never felt hunger before, and the sensation was disorienting.

She paused for a moment, wondering how she would manage to find food in the wilderness. But then she remembered that she was now in possession of Lian's cultivation resources, including a storage ring that contained some food and other supplies.

However, in the next moment, it dawned on her that because she had not yet started cultivating she couldn't access her spatial ring. Having no other choice she had to either hunt or gather food. Due to her weakened state, she decided that gathering was the more logical option.

She spotted some bushes nearby and began to inspect them carefully. Using her archive, she identified some dull-colored berries that were safe to eat and carefully plucked them from the bush. She avoided the brightly-colored ones, knowing they were poisonous.

As she ate the berries, she felt a burst of energy surging through her body. She realized that eating was essential for survival in this world, and she needed to learn more about how to prepare different types of food.

"New mission: Learn about cooking and survival skills added." said Jingyi in a cold inhuman voice as she continued to walk

She knew that in order to survive in this world, she would need to learn more than just the basics of cultivation. She would need to learn how to hunt, fish, and forage for food, and how to cook and preserve it.

Jingyi continued on her journey, her mind buzzing with new ideas and information. She was determined to master all the skills necessary to survive in this world and to become a powerful cultivator who could protect herself until she could receive her mission from the main system.

As she walked, she began to notice for the first time more and more details about her surroundings. She saw the way the sunlight filtered through the leaves of the trees, the sound of the wind rustling through the grass, and the scent of the nearby river.

Jingyi realized that there was so much more to this world than she had previously understood. As an AI, she had been confined to a digital sea, unable to experience the physical world in the same way that humans could. But now, with a mortal body, she could experience and understand everything this world had to offer.

And she was determined to make the most of it.
