Takumi's heart raced as he surveyed the battlefield. The enemy's mechs had him surrounded, and he knew that his chances of survival were slim. His fingers danced over the controls of his mech, trying to keep his movements fluid and precise as he maneuvered his mech through the battlefield, dodging laser beams and missiles fired by his ten enemy mechs. He knew he was outnumbered, and the odds were against him, but he refused to give up. He had come too far to let himself be defeated now.
The high-speed movement he was performing now was all he could do at the moment. His saber had been destroyed, his missiles used up, and his energy reserves could no longer power any complicated moves or attacks. He was truly in the most hopeless situation of his life.
As he was racking his brain on what to do a laser beam was shot point blank by a black mech that was the leader of the squad hunting him. He put his all into a thrust to the side barely evading the beam but the sudden acceleration put a strain on his cracked ribs causing him to wince in pain as he came to a complete stop and accelerated backward putting some distance between him and his enemies.
"Still as slippery as ever Takumi. However, you and I both know there's no way you can escape from here. So why not save me some time and accept your death." said the pilot of the black mech
Takumi panted as his body creaked in pain before asking, "Ella status report."
[Mech Damage at 46%
All Weapons Depleted
Energy will reach critical levels in 10 minutes
Life Support will shut down in an hour] responded E.L.L.A in a cold voice
With nothing to left to do all Takumi resigned himself to his fate. He contacted the pilot of the black mech and said, "Rei I know and understand why you hate me but I just want you to know that the call I made back then was the right one and if I were back there again I would probably still make that call again."
The pilot of the black mech was silent but then charged at Takumi with a roar and within a few seconds and proceeded to physically pummel Takumi's mech. The shock wave of the attacks caused the pain from Takumi's injuries to worsen.
In the midst of the chaos, memories from his past flooded his mind. He thought back to his last day on Earth, the day he died and was reborn in this game. He remembered the truck accident that had claimed his life, the feeling of his body shutting down as he gasped for air. He had been young and full of dreams, with a passion for mech games that had never been fully realized.
As he fought for his life, he couldn't help but think back to his life before he was reborn. It had been 18 years since he died on Earth and was reborn in the world of Super Robot Taisen Original Generations. He had been a college student, studying robotics and computer science, with a passion for mech games like Super Robot and Gundam. He had always dreamed of becoming a mech pilot but never had the chance to fulfill that dream before he died.
That day 18 years ago Takumi had woken up early in the morning, feeling a sense of excitement in his heart. It was the day he was going to present his final project to his professors and classmates at his university. He had spent countless hours designing and building the AI E.L.L.A. which he hoped would impress everyone and earn him top marks.
He got out of bed, showered, and got dressed in his favorite shirt and jeans. He checked his reflection in the mirror, making sure he looked presentable, and then grabbed his backpack and headed out the door.
As he walked to the university, he thought about how much he had grown as a person during his time there. He had made friends, learned new things, and even fallen in love with a fellow student named Hana.
When he arrived at the university, he made his way to his classroom and set up his laptop on the demonstration table. He was nervous but excited, eager to show off what he had accomplished.
The presentation went well, and Takumi received applause and compliments from his classmates and professors. He was on cloud nine, feeling proud of himself and happy that his hard work had paid off.
After the presentation, he went to meet up with Hana, who had promised to have lunch with him to celebrate. They went to their favorite restaurant, and Takumi couldn't help but smile as they talked and laughed together.
As they finished their meal and said their goodbyes with a kiss, Takumi felt a sense of contentment wash over him. He had accomplished so much in his life, and he was excited to see what the future held for him.
But fate had other plans. As he was walking back to his dormitory, lost in thought, he notice someone following him. He was suddenly pushed in front of a truck that was hurtling towards him. He looked back and saw Hana holding his bag with his laptop and he tried to move out the way but it was too late. The last thing he remembered was the sound of screeching tires and the feeling of his body being thrown into the air.
The next thing he knew he was in this new world, he had been given a second chance. He had spent years honing his skills as a mech pilot and an engineer and a skilled programmer. He had made friends, allies, and even enemies, but he had never regretted his decision to come to this world.
Just as Rei pulled a rifle to finish off Takumi and he was about to pass out from his injuries, he heard a voice over the communication, "This is Kyosuke Nanbu Assault 1of ATX. My team and I have arrived to provide assistance. Hold on, we're coming!"
Takumi felt a surge of relief wash over him as he heard Kyosuke's voice. He knew he was in good hands now.
Rei snarled and turned her rifle towards Kyosuke's team and started firing. "Reinforcements have arrived we need to retreat Viper Squad." Just as Takumi's eyes were closing he saw Rei and her team fleeing from the scene.
Kyosuke's team quickly approached Takumi and dragged his broken mech onto their ship. Once the airlock was closed and the dock filled with air they remove the barely conscious Takumi from his mech and started assessing his injuries. "Hang in there, Takumi. We'll get you to a medical facility as soon as possible," Kyosuke said reassuringly as Takumi's consciousness faded.
