Jack then looked at Nicole, as both of them nodded and drank the serum together.
They started grunting in pain as smoke came out from their bodies.

After that, Nicole, with ragged breath, looked at Jack. Her smiling face soon turned to fear, "NO! Jack!!"
She quickly ran to his side as Professor Emeric checked his vitals.
Nicole's eyes were teary and full of worry. Liam moved closer and asked, "Is something wrong, Professor?"
"His vitals are fine. As for the cause, I still don't know about it," Emeric replied.
He then picked up a syringe and drew some blood. Emeric looked at Nicole, "We need to move him to the ward."
Nicole then stood up, her eyes locked on Jack. Liam remembered them as Layla had told him about them before.
