Emeric's response was one of acceptance.
"Good, you can tell them that I killed their parents."
"I'm willing to accept any punishment they want to give me, but only after I finish this cure."
Liam asked, "Any punishment? What if they want you to die?"
Emeric responded without hesitation, his tone resigned. "That's fine. I don't blame them."
Trying to understand Emeric's motivations, Elly asked, "Just why are you doing all this?"
Emeric replied, his tone somber. "To stop more victims like me."
Liam connected the dots, asking, "Did you lose your family to an ascendant?"
Emeric's gaze faltered, a flicker of pain passing through his eyes.
"Yes, but that doesn't justify what I do. Forget about it. So, how can you help me?"
Liam inquired, "What do you need help with?"
Emeric looked at Liam thoughtfully.
"How about you give me a sample of your blood? Who knows, you might have the missing piece I'm looking for."
