He then turned to look at Elly. His eyes were red.
He was on the verge of tears but was holding them back, trying to maintain composure.
Liam's voice was thick with emotion. "People often say time heals all wounds, but I've realized today that it's a lie."
"It's been so many years, but the moment I stepped in here, it's like I've returned to that time."
"All the pain just comes flooding back."
He clutched his chest. "It feels like someone's slicing through my heart."
Elly crouched down beside him.
She felt a stab in her heart looking at Liam's condition, a pain even more intense than when he had lost his hand.
Quietly, she reached out and hugged Liam.
Liam, taken aback by Elly's action, instinctively tried to push her away.
